Learn in 3's
At DKP, we believe in a progression that starts simple and builds as you improve. Our three-step program moves from ground skills to water practice with just the board, then combines everything for a safer, more confident experience.
Out of the box instruction
Our 3-step method revolutionizes kiteboarding and wing foiling instruction with a detailed progression lessons. We’ve fine-tuned every aspect to ensure a safe, unforgettable experience.
From land to sea, our lessons provide a comprehensive understanding that sets our students apart.

Your safety, our top priority
DKP takes safety very seriously. We’ve worked closely with the Coast Guard over the past two years to design a system that keeps students safe and actively cooperate with local authorities to ensure best practices.
Before, during, and after each lesson, your instructor communicates with the Coast Gaurd to ensure a seamless and positive experience. By maintaining constant radio contact, we’re able to monitor conditions and respond effectively.
We also use helmet radios to ensure communication throughout your lesson, no matter the situation. Plus, with jet ski-assisted instruction, your instrutor is always right by your side.

From our founder, David Baker
"My love for kiteboarding and foiling began in 2018, and it's only grown stronger while exploring the waters around Vancouver Island. As DKP's lead kiteboarding and wingfoiling instructor, I'm committed to offering exceptional lessons that ensure you feel confident and fully prepared to take on the waves.
I am thrilled to share my passion with you and introduce you to these incredible wind sports, and I look forward to seeing you on the water!"

FAQ's
Should i bring a wetsuit to my first kite/wing lesson?
No, you won’t need a wetsuit for step 1 of your progression. Our ground lessons focus on theory and practical skills, so there’s no need to worry about water-related elements at this stage.
What if the weather is bad or there is no wind?
We closely monitor conditions and will reschedule if weather makes the session unsafe or unproductive. But we likely proceed with a lesson if it is raining.
Are the kiteboarding lessons private?
All lessons are private or semi-private with just you and one other participant. However, for the kite or wing ground intro lessons, you can choose a private session or join a group class with up to 4 people at a reduced rate.
